THIS SUMMER: Bringing the Farm-to-Table concept to life.

We see nutrition and locally sourced foods as one of the key components to aging well. That's why Willamette Oaks is thrilled to partner with Ambrosia Farm to host a farm stand full of local and organic produce. Join us every Thursday from 3:30-5:30pm, May 18th through mid-November. Bring your sun hat, the farm stand is held outdoors, weather permitting. Click here to learn more about our farm partner. News Small Photo Template farmstand bleed

Geotouring Along the Oregon Coast

Fall is one of the central Oregon coast’s most spectacular months and our two day, one night geotour promises something special for everyone: adventurous explorations, walks along the shore and dunes, stunning views from the top of Cape Perpetua, a glass of wine on one of our ocean front balconies, stories by the fireplace in the evening, and wonderfully prepared and presented home-cooked meals. Geocachers and non-geocachers alike are invited, as there are opportunities to explore with the group, to spend a morning in quiet solitude watching the ocean from your condo, or to venture into Old Town Florence on your own. $165 per person includes lodging, all meals and transportation.

Tai Chi Inside Out

Originating in ancient China, Tai Chi is now practiced throughout the world for health improvement. Most programs teach only the motions and breathing techniques. This month we delve into the less explored, inner spiritual, intellectual, emotional and social aspects of Tai Chi before continuing on to learn Tai Chi for better balance. Experience Tai Chi from the inside out with our own certified instructors.

Here's just a sampling of recent events we've filed under 'fun.'

Willamette Valley Winery Tours: King Estate

The western border of the old Eugene Territory was marked by the Applegate Trail--a route that brought pioneers into the valley, took gold seekers to CA and provided weekly stagecoach service between Portland and Sacramento. Driving through rolling hills, farmland, vineyards and past an old stagecoach stop, we explored the western portions of this border. We completed the tour with wine tastings and lunch King Estate Winery, one of the area’s most scenic and prestigious wineries. Next month we tour eco-friendly Pfeiffer Winery to see a completely solar operated winery and to taste their limited releases of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Muscat.

Die Fledermaus

Cascadia Concert Opera’s production of Johann Strauss, Jr.’s Die Fledermaus was flawless. Presented in a concert format, we were able to enjoy of the flirtation, intrigue and revenge of this operetta from mere paces away. Our audience’s close presence and emotional reactions to the performance makes Willamette Oaks one of Cascadia Concert Chorus’ favorite venues. Don’t miss their Spring performance!
