Maestro David Dworkin makes a rare appearance in Eugene with his brilliant, humorous, and highly entertaining program of musical exercise for all ages. Whether he inspires us to march along with Sousa’s rousing Stars and Stripes Forever, or melt into the waltz lilt of Strauss’ The Voices of Spring, you’ll have an unforgettable time waving a baton along with him. Expect to hear some hilarious stories from the Maestro’s long career in the pit as both first-chair musician and conductor. You’ll laugh a great deal as we wend our way through a lineup that includes some of the most beautiful music ever written. Children are especially welcome to this event, which is for people of all ages and abilities.

Eugene’s foremost resident performing company is known for its graceful and often brilliant handling of classical repertoire. They always manage a surprising twist to each performance that brings us to our feet with a roar of
applause at the end of each program. We welcome them once more to our
stage for an eclectic program entitled Music from the Americas. Principal second violinist Yvonne Hsueh leads off with a jaunty flourish for a delightful musical tour through the best our two continents have to offer. Join us for a musical event you won’t easily forget!

In 1913, Harry Fox introduced the dance that was destined to become the most popular dance of the Twentieth Century. The fox trot, after many musical and stylistic changes, was wholeheartedly adopted by even the Hollywood stars. This is your chance to learn the fine details before the Blue Moon dance and concert on April 2nd. Instructor Laura Taylor will make this an exciting and pleasant social evening—and she’s bringing in some very special surprise guests to make that happen. Everyone from the community with an interest in dance is welcome to attend. If you’re an expert, we’ll really be happy to see you.
