Topics presented this spring include:
• World Rhythms Drum Circle
Drumming offers the opportunity to think, act, and perceive the world in extraordinary ways while you improve coordination and steady internal rhythms. We explore the richness of African polyrhythms that support brain function and improve short-term memory as we discover ways to think about and link rhythms that feel good to play. We explore new and ancient healing rhythms from around the world in the collective “ah ha...!” of drumming together.

• Conductorcise!
Experience great music from the inside out the conductor’s baton! Beginners and advanced musicians alike find it easy to soar into this joyful exercise that provides your mind, body, and soul with an entertaining and informative workout. Conducting great music is perhaps the reason that conductors, on average, live to the age of 95! Moving together, we learn the basics of instrumentation and conducting--with no worry about performing solo.  With a baton in your fingers, you’ll gain a unique understanding of a variety of music including show tunes, ‘40’s swing, opera, Baroque, modern composers, and everything in between.

No-Partner Dance for Every Body
Yes, we mean every body, even those bodies who fear they are too sedentary to dance. Joyful movement is essential to life quality and brain function, so here’s a way to make exercise painless—for every body. Seated in a walker or chair, standing, or using walking poles, you will be able to perform these simple, adapted dance moves to the music you love. You can still enjoy the Cha-cha, the swing, and those hot Latin beats while getting the workout your body needs. No partners or experience necessary. Open to all levels.
